Remembering Kao Saelee
We are mourning the loss of Kao Saelee, who passed away this last weekend. He was Butler Church member and on council, and a leader in our Asian Grace congregation. In his memory, Chansamone writes: “We appreciate everything that you have done to grow and strengthen our Faith in Asian Grace!! Thank you for teaching us and leading our Bible study!!”

Kao had been having some health challenges but his passing was still very sudden. Thank you for your prayers for his wife, Sahn, and family. Pray also for our brothers and sisters in Asian Grace. The memorial service will be at Butler on Saturday, July 19.

Food Distribution every first Friday
Food Distribution this Friday
Our next Food Distribution and Breakfast Ministry has been scheduled for this Friday July 11. Clients are served starting at 9:00 AM until food runs out around 10:30am. Additional volunteers are always welcome; if you can help out please contact us and let the church office know.

Please pray for additional leaders for our food distribution ministry, and for opportunities to build connections with individuals we serve.
Council Update
As announced this past Sunday, the candidate for interim lead pastor is Ron Herms. His role could include both lead pastor, and congregational pastor for Common Ground – also on an interim basis. There will be opportunities to hear from Ron prior to a formal church business meeting next month. (A bio was provided on Sunday and is available from the church office.)

In the meantime, Jim Holm has agreed to serve as our provisional interim pastor for July and August. If you have any questions, please connect with your congregational representative on Council, or with Pastor Jim.

The council will be meeting again next week Thursday (July 17). Thanks for your ongoing prayers over this season of transition.
Saturday Neighborhood Outreach
Together with our missionary Nzash Lumeya, a group from Butler has been continuing to reach out to neighbors giving out bottled water, and offering prayer, and an invitation to a church family and closer relationship with Jesus. This effort is branching out to the houses near Butler to ask "How would you like Butler Church to serve this community, and how can we be praying for you and your neighbors?" Please join us in praying over these new connections.

This will take place most Saturdays picking up again this weekend! If you'd like to participate, let Nzash know, and plan to meet in the Butler courtyard this Saturday, July 12 at 9:30AM!
Birthdays and Anniversaries
Congrats to all celebrating a birthday, milestone, or anniversary this month! If your special date is coming up and you want to make sure we have it noted, let us know!

Highlights from Pastor Scott's Ministry
We had a great time Sunday evening (June 29) celebrating Pastor Scott’s years of ministry and the ways we have seen God at work over those 19 years. If you missed the opportunity to write a note of encouragement or appreciation to Scott or the Holman family, you can send that to the church office.

During our open mic time, there were a few who didn’t get the chance to share. Emebet writes: “What I have appreciated about Pastor Scott is how he takes the time to listen, has a heart for mission, is so encouraging. As a youth leader, he took my son under his wing and this had a big impact on him. As a pastor he has served despite difficulties. For example, when he had a leg injury and had to use a knee scooter, he could have sat out – but he was up front pastoring and serving anyway! This showed me just how deep his commitment was, and it touched me deeply.”

As we look forward it can be tempting to ask, “What will happen now?” but instead let’s ask “What might God do here next?!” Thanks for continuing to pray for Butler during this season of transition.
Living Your Life on Mission
Butler Cafe BYOM
Butler Cafe on Sundays is an important time for fellowship with our church family. Join in on Sundays at 10:15AM in the courtyard!

If possible, please Bring Your Own Mug for Butler Café on Sundays! A new law to reduce styrofoam waste means that cups will be more expensive for Butler Café. If you’d like a disposable cup, please be prepared to donate to help us cover those costs. Or better yet, BYOM and we can save on costs and reduce waste! You are also welcome to store clean mugs in your foyer mailbox. Thanks!
