Church Picnic May 2022

Our annual Church Picnic is back this year! Join us on the campus of Fresno Pacific University for worship, fellowship, food, and fun! We’ll gather at 10:30 am, and after the service share in a potluck picnic lunch. All are welcome!
¡Nuestro picnic anual de la iglesia está de vuelta este año! ¡Únase a nosotros en el campus de la Universidad Fresno Pacific para adoración, compañerismo, comida y diversión! Nos reuniremos a las 10:30 am y después del servicio compartiremos un almuerzo tipo picnic. ¡Todos son bienvenidos!
What to Bring
Bring your family, friends, and a large side dish to share!
Other things you may want to bring: sunscreen, lawn chairs, blankets, swimsuits, table games, water bottles, comfy shoes, hats, smiling faces, & anything you need to make your picnic dreams come true!
Outdoor Worship Service
Our worship service will be outdoors under the tress of Alumni Plaza starting at 10:30am. Come a little early to drop off your potluck dish, greet each other, and grab a seat in the shade! (There will also be a 9:00AM Faith Community worship service at Butler, as usual.) The service will feature ministry highlights including our Children's Ministry!
Picnic Lunch
We'll BBQ up some hotdogs & have plates and drinks ready! You bring the rest! Please remember to bring a large side dish to share. Ideas: Salads, fruit, veggies & chips. Desserts are are welcome, too! There will be some tables and chairs to gather around, or you may want to bring a picnic blanket and/or chairs to relax on the grass.
Activities
It's been our tradition to have a waterballoon tossing contest just before lunch! Team up with a partner and be prepared to get a little wet; if your balloon breaks, you'll be out! The last team remaining is the winner!
Other activities have included fútbol (soccer!), volleyball, water activities, and table games. Feel free to bring along a game you'd like to play, too!
There will also be a bounce house available for the kids after the service!
Open Pool Time!
UPDATE! The FPU pool will be open from 1-3pm in the afternoon! If you're planning to take a swim, you'll want to come ready with swimsuits, towels, sunscreen, and maybe an extra folding chair for the side of the pool.
There will be two lifeguards on duty. For the safety of all participants please follow their instructions, and encourage others to do so as well. Thanks!
Location
Fresno Pacific University is a short walk from Butler Church. Parking will be available at church, along Heaton Ave, and as designated on the FPU campus. If you willl need extra assistance making your way over, please let us know!
We will meet at Alumni Plaza next to the large grass area. Drop off your potluck dish nearby, drop off any picnic items at a table or on the green, and then find a seat in the shade for our outdoor service. A larger, more detailed campus map is available here.
